About the project

Within Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA), the Master in Advanced Global Studies (MAGS) is a one-year program intended for early-career professionals (minimum 5 years of professional experience), who desire to specialize in one of the 7 specialised master tracks at PSIA. As part of the MAGS, a group of 5 students is currently conducting a capstone project (the Project) on Promoting and enabling Responsible Business Conduct through Development Co-operation, in collaboration with the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate (DCD).

Through a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods, the Project aims to improve understanding of the links between Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) and development co-operation and inform discussions on the topic at the OECD and in broader international community. More precisely, the Project seeks to understand the role of development cooperation and donor agencies can play in promoting RBC through various forms of private sector engagement and private sector development activities.

About the survey

As part of the Project, Sciences Po students are currently collecting and analysing data on the interlinkages between RBC and development co-operation, including qualitative and quantitative data reflecting the perspective of businesses when engaging with donor agencies and development actors. This survey is targeted at businesses with experience in engaging with development actors and aims at identifying trends, challenges and opportunities to promote policy coherence between RBC and development co-operation. Results from the survey will inform reflections and dialogues at the OECD on the interplay between RBC and development co-operation.

Answers to the survey will be anonymized. Results will only be presented in aggregated forms to highlight business perspectives and trends. Respondents are free to answer only to questions that they deem relevant to them. Sciences Po and/or the OECD will seek participants’ consent before disclosing any information that would link specific answers to specific companies or cases. The survey should take no more than 20 minutes.
